Blood Sugar -- Keep things balanced

"Since we are in the holiday season, sugar treats will be everywhere!!  How do we stop ourselves from going crazy eating too much sugar??

First of all allow yourself to have some treats but make sure to wait awhile after you have eaten a good meal.  Eating something sugary without having a good meal (full of protein and good fats) will cause your blood sugar to go up too fast and come crashing down an hour or so later.

Second...take the supplement Chromium.  Take about 500mcg (micrograms) each day and this will help to keep your blood sugar more stable so you don't crave sugar as much.

Third...eat small frequent meals throughout the day that are high in proteins and good fats (nuts, seeds) to help keep your blood sugar more stable.  This is especially important for people with low blood sugar problems.

And of course, if you eat chocolate...always eat dark chocolate!!   It contains a lot of anti-oxidants and is actually considered a health food if the cocoa content is above 70%!!  Now how's that for a health tip!!"
