but to be well."

The selected Health Tip is summarized below.  An audio clip of the tip as presented by Dr. Leah on the Chat With Women radio show is available at the end of the tip.

 Cholesterol

"Are you concerned or confused about your cholesterol?  What is it for anyway?

Cholesterol is made by the liver for the purpose of making hormones in the body.  We need it and would be very sick without it.

80% of the cholesterol in that number you see on your lab work is made by your liver.  Sometimes our liver makes a little more than it should.

Our diet is responsible for some of our cholesterol but it's more important to treat our liver when trying to lower our cholesterol.  Red Yeast Rice is a good nutrient to help lower cholesterol.  Garlic and fish oil are very helpful as well.

Need more information on how to treat your cholesterol? Call my office at 425-452-9366 to schedule an appointment so we can determine the best treatment plan for you."
